学术警报

Many of our students struggle with their work during the semester, and the offices of Academic Advising (OAA), Student Academic 服务 (SAS), and the 机会计划 (OP) are here to help them deal with those challenges. Please keep in mind it is important for our students to receive regular, systematic feedback on their work, their progress in the course, and the grades that they earn. If your students are not doing well academically, please use the 学术警报 通知系统 to keep them, their advisors, and the OAA, SAS, and OP staff 意识到任何担忧.

The information you provide in an academic alert will be shared with the student and 他们的指导老师. It will also prompt appropriate outreach from Student Academic 服务 (SAS) and/or the Office of Academic Advising (OAA).

Student Academic 服务 will offer assistance related to tutoring, time management, and study skills, while also making referrals to the 写作中心. SAS也可以 refer students to Disability and Accessibility 服务, if applicable.

The Office of Academic Advising will invite students to schedule an advising meeting to discuss barriers to students’ academic success, provide information about the College’s academic policies and procedures, offer guidance on academic options, while also making other referrals to relevant campus support offices.

If your concerns about a student go beyond their academic work – if you are concerned for their health and welfare – then please use the 通知系统 maintained by the Student Assessment and Intervention Group (SAIG).

The committee consists of colleagues from all areas of the College, meets weekly, and receives information about students needing support from a wide variety of sources. SAIG members act in a timely way and, in order to preserve students’ privacy, they may not share with you what actions they have taken to support your student.
